mckeown's drawings

the best restaurant in seaside. we went there three times. they have these books that you can write memories and stuff about the restaurant. it's a pretty neat concept. so i decided to do some quick portraits of my family.

Here's the rest of them. I think the fruit looks good on its own. but so does the one adding the african soldier. He changes it up completely from this graceful, triangular balance of a beautiful, giant-fruit-filled landscape to a solider guarding his valley expressing "aye. my giant fruit. to feed my country." i hope that wasnt racist or anything.

the berries in the sky is my personal favorite. plays with your eye.

pretty fun and easy project. hard to go wrong with these.

my drawing finals. i like working on midtone paper. making shadows and highlights with two different values really brings out a whole new sense of depth for me.

its interesting how demonic the communist colors look compared to my creme/shades of brown style. they both show different feelings.

Word project for my 2D design class. Not generally my style, but it's neat anyways.

blocks

this really screws with your eye if you stare at different sections. sort of an art piece. to me you start to perceive all kinds of different shapes all over the place. sometimes it looks like its floating, sometimes pressed in or bulging out. sometimes stairs, buildings, tubes, boxes. try the little challenge of finding these shapes selective shapes.

it's pretty fun. i think word search puzzles are harder than this.
